Practice Update - January 2022

The safety of our patients is of paramount importance to us.

Throughout the pandemic we have worked tirelessly to look after our patients in the best way possible. We have been consulting patients in a variety of ways, including virtually, on the telephone and face to face when an examination has been needed. We have continued to run child and adult vaccination programmes, cervical screening, long term conditions health checks, mental health support and provide end of life care when needed.

We have been seeing COVID positive patients face to face if necessary. We have also been monitoring patients with COVID remotely to reduce the need for hospital attendances and ease pressure on secondary care.

We have been looking after the residents of two local nursing homes. 

We have just over 9000 patients of different ages, ethnicity and levels of vulnerability. We strive to deliver an efficient service and have diversified our practice team to include a phlebotomist, an advanced nurse practitioner to help with triage, two in house pharmacists who are able to prescribe medications and deal with any medication problems, a mental health nurse, access into a practice based mental health team and access to social prescribers. We hope to have a physiotherapist on site within the next few months. 

We ask that you contact the practice via e-consult. This is on online form which will go directly to a clinician who will be able to triage your request. We hope that this will help to streamline the process so that your request can be directed to the most appropriate member of our team who can deal with it fully. It will reduce your wait time and also improve the efficiency of our service. 

This will allow us to manage our waiting room space, allow social distancing and to keep some of our most vulnerable patients safe. Thank-you for your help.
